Current Trends in Successful Property Advertising

Current Trends in Successful Property Advertising

Chances are you went into the real estate business to help others buy and sell property; not to hone in on your marketing skills.  Real estate agents require specialised skills and knowledge to do their jobs, and many times property advertising is not their strong point.  However, marketing is a very important part of the real estate business.  Sometimes handing over the marketing reigns to someone whose career is focused on marketing can give you much needed results in your business.  Marketing professionals are highly aware of what it takes to do property advertising and the current marketing trends for real estate.  Marketing experts are now using the following trends in property advertising to advertise real estate.

Property Advertising with Mobile Marketing

In the age of tablets, smartphones, and people being on the go all of the time, if you have not changed your website to allow for mobile interaction, now is the time to do so.  Websites that are mobile compatible are easier for potential clients to navigate and can help highlight the important points of your website.  In fact, 55 percent of adult cell phone users accessed the Internet with their phones in 2012, and that percentage is estimated to have grown by leaps and bounds in 2013.  For adults between the ages of 25 to 34, 80 percent used their smart phones to access the Internet.  While 68 percent of adults between the ages of 35 and 44 utilised their cell phones to surf the web.  These statistics show the importance of having a mobile capable website when advertising your real estate business.

Consider Offering a Free eBook

When you offer a free product, you bring potential clients to your website and make them aware of your presence and expertise in the real estate market.  They also get excited about the idea of getting something, such as your advice, for free.  Some agents have written, or hired a ghostwriter to write, an eBook for them on a particular real estate topic such as a short sale, first time homebuyer tips, lease options, staging and curb appeal, or property investments.  This gives the real estate agent the chance to show off their knowledge and their professional voice.  These eBooks should not be portrayed as a sales pitch, but rather attempt to offer solid advice to potential property buyers and sellers.

Social Media in Property Advertising

If you haven’t yet utilized the vast array of social media outlets for your property advertising, it is high time to do so.  Social media offers all kinds of free or low cost advertising that can be seen by millions of potential clients.  You can create a Facebook page, your own real estate Twitter feed, an Instagram account with pictures of your properties for sale, and connect with others in the business via LinkedIn.  Social media is an excellent way to get your name and business out there and establish your dominance in the local real estate market.

As the real estate market changes, so does property advertising.  It is important to keep up with current trends in the real estate market, as well as advertising ones with advertising companies like Traffic ( traffic.com.au ). Meeting your potential clients where they are at virtually is the key to successful property advertising.
