The Best Advice I Have Ever Received

The Best Advice I Have Ever Received

I made a list of the best advice I have ever received in my life. See if it works for you.  I have only listed about 5. I am sure there are more than 5 but I’ll keep this list short and maybe come back and list more at a later time.

1. Stop taking advice from broke people

This is probably the best piece of advice I have ever received. This made so much sense to me at the time, because if you take advice from broke people you are going to be broke too. Broke people can only teach you how to be broke. So, just don’t take advice from broke people.

2. Hang out only with people who are positive

Some great person said, “Mediocre people will always belittle you whereas great people will encourage you to be great like them.”

During my looser days, I always heard people saying it’s not possible, it cannot be done. Losers always keep blaming other people, situations or circumstances for their failure rather than themselves. I finally had enough of that and today, I am very skeptical about people who blame others around them for their failure.

So, no matter how nice somebody is, if they are negative, just stay away from them.

3. Write down your goals at least once a year

This is so important in life. Too many people are going through life with no real purpose or direction. Goals give you direction and a purpose. And, writing them down can bring a lot of clarity to your life.

4. Manage your money well

Two things that will determine your peace of mind to a large extent is how well you manage your money and how well you manage your relationships.

Donald Trump said “Be your own financial adviser.” There is a lot of weight in what The Donald says. You must educate yourself in wealth management and create your own money blueprint to keep and grow your wealth.

5. If you fail, try again more intelligently

Henry Ford said “Failure is an opportunity to start again more intelligently.”

I see so many young people who want to start a business. Many do make a start but once they fail they just don’t try again.

It is not uncommon to see people fail several times before they finally succeed. The important thing is to learn from your experiences and do things more intelligently or maybe differently the second time around.

Let me know what is the best piece of advice you received in your life and how it has helped you in the comments section below.
